my only problem is, kitty pissed me off so much, i ended up having an idea for a mod that adds a character that kills her and replaced her, but they dont betray you....

i have grudge problems...

Haha, wow XD.

yea, but other than that, i really enjoyed it, i just wish you had a little more freedom, but seeing as it's just a demo, it's really good, and i enjoy it so far, great job dude!

Thanks! Glad to hear it~

Promising start for a game, want to play more.

Hope it gets as good as your other one, keep it up!

Thanks~. Right now it's on hiatus. Hopefully I can come back to this someday, as I really did enjoy making it!

There is a game-crashing error in 1.2b
────────────────────────────────────────────────

Script 'Indivi - Hud Portrait' line 174: NoMethodError occurred.
undefined method `name' for nil:NilClass
────────────────────────────────────────────────
Reproduced, though initially I thought it was a one time bug.
When it happened a second time (after going through what I initially thought was what caused it had failed and continuing to play as normal), instead of retracing all my steps to that point, I tried doing two things in my shack, as the crash always happens there.
Going through every combination of clothing I had didn't get any results. So after the last combination failed, instead of resetting, I progressed to the next day and picked up Mable as she woke me up in the scripted event. Imediately switch to her as the party leader, and went to sleep again.
Crash.
Apparently, the script needs to be updated to automatically switch back to the player character for sleeping, then switch back to the leader the player selected after waking up.

────────────────────────────────────────────────
Additionally, unlike in Mable's Rainy Skies, it does not look like my teammates actually help in combat…

Thanks, I'll write it down as something to investigate. Thanks for giving me the details on how to re-create it as well!

Right now, only Mable can do anything in battle. She'll randomly use her laser gun.

I noticed, but only afterwards… I usually defeat enemies in two or three hits, the exception is the Junker that occassionally spawns near three scrap gathering points, and the goons during the Nui rescue mission. They have more health, and Mable will fire her weapon at them.

────────────────────────────────────────────────

Speaking of that mission, while I don't object to the outcome currently available, I would like to see alternate paths (not a replacement) where I can avoid Mable getting assaulted. I don't mind rapey scenes where my character is the victim or the aggressor, but scenes where other's, especially allies, are assaulted and having the ability to protect them taken away… is off-putting.

That's not to say the scene itself shouldn't be there. It is really good, and I would enjoy it if I was playing Mable, if the other allies weren't present, or were part of the sexing me group (Like Fawn, or Kitty).

So, if you have time, motivation, and ideas, giving the player more options, like purchasing a weapon for Kitty, or blasting open the door with a smaller explosion, casting the gang into a panic with scattering debris and obscuring smoke so you can take them out in smaller groups, or something that lets the player feel like they have a bit more control.

It just felt odd when the game said "yeah, you trust kitty to leave with the explosive" when I really didn't. Her character art and personality raise all kinds of red flags for me, so I really wasn't as surprised as my character was when she pulled the "double bullshit" stunt.

────────────────────────────────────────────────

And as for Nui, I understand not equiping them with weapons, jewelery, and most clothing… but why not marks?

────────────────────────────────────────────────

Speaking of Kitty… Where do I buy her clothes? I want to wear her top and bottom…

I'm surprised I can unequip and wear everything else, but not complaining.

For Kitty and Mable, while their clothes say wearable by them and you, their ear equipment says it can only be worn by you, but after unequipping them you can put them back on the respective allies.

Got it, yeah. To be honest, I'm pretty uncomfortable with Mable having bad things happen to her too (a big part of the reason why the Mable version eventually grinded to a halt.) So I agree with you there about it being fine for the main character being okay as a victim/aggressor. Originally, I had definitely wanted to give the player some alternate routes through that part, but there wasn't enough time.

Nui might get her own clothes. Maybe marks.

Kitty's clothing, I hadn't gotten around to drawing the main character's version of them, so that's why she "conveniently" doesn't have anything else she can wear yet.

Thanks, noted about ear equipment.

Ah, that's good to know, about Kitty's clothes. I was trying to use Cheat Engine (unsuccessfully) to get duplicates. This also explains why I can't exit the clothes menu, or change characters while in the clothes menu, while the current character is undressed (or with underwear showing). I'm glad that it's not just Kitty, as it feels more… natural(?)… when the game doesn't let you do it for anyone. Since you plan(I assume, since your reply implies you do) to make the art of said clothing for the player, I'm glad you didn't just hide the clothing on the player equip screen and remove the player's name from the list of people that can were the clothing in its description, as that may have made people not get the clothing in future builds. Though since I can remove her daimond boots, being able to buy an extra pair would be nice.

Doesn't explain why I can't change change characters on the equip screen. As for bad stuff happening to Mable, that's fine (from my point of view, don't feel pressured into doing ut if you're attached to the character) so lonb as I'm playing her, and, as I said, the situation doesn't prevent the character I'm playing from helping others in trouble at the same time.

Clothes for Nui? I mean… maybe a hat? Marks at the very least. Not sure if body clothes are fitting for such a person… But marks di seem like something Nui should be able to 'wear'.

I'm also working on a game, but development is slow. And that's fine, I feel that rushing things is a fast track to making them inferior. Doesn't help that I can't afford to rush it. I'd like to talk to you more about my game sometime, privately, but I can see you're quite busy, so it can wait.

Stay awesome~!

Yeah, I'm pretty proud of the clothing system that I put together for it. Hopefully I'll be able to come back to this game at some point! Good luck with yours too and see you on discord~.

I would like to see Mable's story through this one. You included her, and I would like to see similar events in the Mable version revisited in this one.
Well, not all the events, but like, she could hire you instead of Cruss, and you could take her on your ship to see Arfur.
Unlikely to happen, but I really want to see more of Mables story, even if it's through the eyes of someone else.

I an curious why the game asks if your body is male, female, futanari, or hermaphrodite, and then immeditately afterwards has the option to change it to something else in the character editor. Not complaining, lets me remove the vagina from the hermaphadite. Or, if I felt like it, remove all the reproductive organs. Honestly, I am actually curious why it asks about body type at all instead of just going straight to character editing.

They number of kinks I can adjust is much smaller than the kinks in Mable's story… That's kinda disheartening.

Bonus thought; it's my head canon that Cruss and Arfur are the same race or species.

I'm very happy to hear you're interested in Mable's story! If/when I get back into this game, I'd like to make that happen.

The game asking your body type is more just to set something up quickly in case you don't want to go through all the options. It's not difficult to set up or anything.

Less adjustable kinks mostly has to do with me understanding better now what I'm capable of making, and what's viable to allow the player to turn off (since having to account for disabled kinks can mean a lot of extra work for me.)

Will neither confirm nor deny your head canon XD

(1 edit)

Ah, I see… That's kinda a shame. I was hoping to see non-humanoid fetish scenes, among others implied in Mable's story, with my character. But not everyone wants that, oh well. What's here is good.

I'd like to mention that parts of the maps confuse me… There's (slightly) darker, non-grid areas of the map, and areas of the map that are transparent (Might be thinking of Mable's story, still waking up)… Is there any significance to them being seperate tiles?

Are labyrinths coming back? The labyrinths were facinating in Mable's story, though the last room was brutal if you weren't properly equiped. Randomly selected maps are pretty cool. Specifically randomly selected, as procedurally generated maps tend to actually be a lot of work and math to work properly, where as loading a full map when transitioning just needs the map to exist and then be selected via variable.

Rainy Skies actually has a good chance for non-humanoid fetish scenes if it gets developed. The non-grid areas just show the background. Just a design/aesthetics thing. I do very much like the labyrinths idea and am actually using it for another game. Undecided whether it would make a reappearance here though.

A good concept, but from what I've played of it so far, there is not much lewdness or sex going on in the beginning, it crashes after encounters and working the brothel, and like it's predecessor - Lust Doll - there are no men, or so few that have any relevance beyond random mobs that they practically don't exist. Beyond these issues, I see a lot of potential and a great Craftsman/woman behind it.

Thank you, and yeah, it's definitely true that this feels more like a sci-fi/cyberpunk game with sexual elements, rather than a game focused around weird sex/lewds like Lust Doll is. I'll have to rethink the design I think.

One of the things i love about this game is its map design

I have yet to download and play this, but I wanted to comment anyways.

I love Lust Doll and its character customization, and I'm ecstatic that this version of Rainy Skies is following that. It's a shame the previous version won't be finished, but I'm relieved you left it available to download and play.  It is fun, even if  unfinished.
