Rinny's motivations during her second route

Hey all, I wrote this up to explain Rinny's motivations for a fan that wasn't happy with her during her second route. Figured it might be good to share with everyone.

Obviously huge spoiler warnings! Make sure you've completed Rinny's second route before reading!

---

Rinny is a succubus, so she is loyal to her queen. Therefore, whatever the queen wants, she has a duty to uphold. She also believes in much of the same things; she's a succubus, after all. The succubus milking prison is framed as being a bad place, but in the minds of the succubi, it's actually a reward for people that the queen favors. What happens to the people trapped in there is something that they consider to be the perfect happiness for them.

With that in mind, the queen allowed Rinny to be a jailer on the condition that she persuades the protagonist to stay. Most importantly, Rinny isn't a true succubus, and is technically unqualified to be here otherwise. Rinny also believes that this place is paradise for both her and the protagonist.

However, she does understand that the protagonist might not want this. Which is why she initially warned them about meeting the queen, and why she agrees to help them escape, even though she thinks that is a mistake.

From there until the fight with the queen, Rinny is put under considerable amounts of stress. She's been called out and humiliated for not being a true succubus (and therefore unworthy of being a jailer.) She's helping the protagonist escape despite believing they should stay and be happy. She's also disobeying the queen as well by helping the protagonist escape, when her job as jailer is supposed to be keeping the protagonist there. And now she has to face the queen's overwhelming power while still not knowing how she's meant to become a true succubus. She's uncertain whether she's doing the right thing, but she continues only because that's what the protagonist wants.

Eventually, she does become a true succubus, and becomes much more confident in herself. With this new confidence, she comes to trust her judgment that the protagonist is making a mistake and throwing away their happiness by trying to escape. That's why she then actively tried to prevent the protagonist from escaping by any means necessary.

> Rinny was captured by Edith, and she did not like it there - why does she not understand that her friend can feel the same?

It probably isn't clear, since this part was written many years ago, but the implication is that Edith tortures Rinny for her own sadistic pleasure, and doesn't necessarily take her needs into account. One big thing is that she denies Rinny orgasms and just keeps her on edge for hours, just for her amusement.

Whereas the succubus milking prison is catered to its prisoners' needs, and the 'torture' is really a front to pleasure them. That's the difference between the two. Edith is just making her victims suffer, whereas the prison is actually about fulfilling its inmates' sexual desires.

It's also arguable that the succubi/incubi view their duties as being the ones to 'serve', aka be the dommes (hence why prisoners in the milking prison don't get to be dommes.) So in their minds, it might not be right for them to be on the receiving ends.

I know there is no connection between the two, but there is a similar feeling that 'Some birds aren't meant to be caged. Their feathers are just too bright.' I know Ginny's intentions are not bad, but the dialogue and handling style are still very strange. After all, we have dealt with many things together before, and the most important thing between friends is mutual respect, right? I hope you can continue to work hard, this is a very good game

For sure, normally speaking that's the way it should be. And thanks, doing what I can

This is why I didn't accept the queen's love. I'm a free bunny in this unforgiving world.

Very respectable choice!

Too bad i cant tell Rinny that i just wanna see Cassie, again.

I wonder how Rinny would react if you told her that you have places to be, would she still insist that staying is the best option? Then again, she is simply some silly monster girl at the end of the day, so i couldnt really be upset at her big dumb face too much.

Still, Rinny better count her days. I'll remember this. The dungeon is awfully unoccupied right now, and i demand repentance.

I'm considering that as a potential way to end the fight

I can say that to me her motivations seem fine and logical,  I don't think it's unreasonable for her to act as she did, but at least to me it felt a bit like a betrayal, even if she thought it would be for the better she doesn't listen in the end when the player says no and ends up engaging them in a fight over it instead, which at least feels bitter to me.

I don't think it's bad that she does, but with no way to follow up on it it does make me feel a bit sad about how it went down

Gotcha. I'll see if I can address some of those concerns with her for future content.

I realize it's gotta be a lot of effort to handle a game on your own, but thank you for being open to feedback, I hope it's not too exhausting

You're welcome! I definitely try to listen

Rinny is the only person who even noticed that I sprouted wings and a tail overnight.

Well, actually, the protagonist could always change his gender, completely change his body and face, grow horns and a fish tail, replace his normal legs with hooves, cover himself with tattoos, radically change the color of his skin, put on a police uniform over all of this - and still Cassie, Linda and other characters recognized him at first sight and did not give any comments about such radical changes in appearance

Yeah, as mentioned, reactions to the player changing their appearance is pretty much glossed over, since they can change themselves any way they want at any time.

I know,  it was a joke:)

Rⅰnny她真的,我哭死--

她已经尽力了!

Thank you for taking your time to explain this.

You're welcome!

I was surprised about inny for sure, but when i thought about it, it all made sense to me
What i feel is missed is however, is that by this time the protag has other people that need them, (i mean what are the chances you go through the entire succubus route before cassie fawn or bell) and that by vanishing from their lives, they will be hurting them.
also what i feel is missed is your status as a succubus, no other succubus or incubus comments on their new compatriot that somehow wasnt when they met them, no other benefits or rights are granted to the protag that would usually be kept from an outsider, and none of the companions even react to this new development, and although i chalked this down to "to be implemented in a later update", i certainly hope that there will be SOME change that can only be afforded to the player after overcoming the challenge other than "one extra battle move that is eclipsed simply by spending three irl hours grinding strength"

In addition to the hypnotic gaze, there is also the possibility of flying on wings, but, unfortunately, only in the graveyard over questionable areas of the terrain.

aaah yes, imagine meeting harpies while flying, there are no walls that can get in your way, but you can only land in "visible to the sky" areas...

You mean like using that argument on Rinny? Hmm, that could be a way to talk her down I suppose. And yeah, there are a couple things that'll change from having true succubus/incubus status.

Either talk her down, or persuade the queen. i personally think the line of "There are people that love and need me, like your subjects love and need you, I cant abandon them, and when i was brought here it wasnt with the knowledge that it would be for eternity." would be at the least enough to make her second guess her own assumptions of the mc.

Thanks, I'll consider it!

First, I'll take this opportunity to ask you about which file is responsible for displaying coordinates in the desert (with a compass, of course). In my latest translation, these coordinates are not shown for some reason (and in the translation of version 68.1, everything was fine). I will not fix this error now, but when the new version of the game will be published in March, I would like to update the translation and fix this defect at the same time.

As for Edith. Yes, she deprives Rinny of the ability to orgasm. To be more precise, she ultimately gives Rinny this ability in exchange for the protagonist being deprived of orgasms.

In the succubus prison, orgasm deprivation torture is also used, but not in such a harsh form as with Edith. In general, on the contrary, they literally drown the prisoner in orgasms. Nevertheless, the result is the same as with Edith: the prisoner literally goes crazy, completely loses his will and ultimately his personality. That is, what would have happened to Rinny in captivity in the Manor, she considers it possible to do to another person - drive him crazy, deprive him of will, freedom and ultimately of his very personality. (the words "he", "him" are here for simplicity, of course).

Yes, perhaps succubi by their nature can consider this happiness for people. But still, Rinni is more humanized in the game than the other succubi, and that's why I was upset when it turned out that she was capable of this.

It's in event 11 on map 324: Desert.

Hmm, I understand. A lot of people have also said even though they understand her motives, it's still hard to forgive her. I'll try to take this into account with future content for her

Maybe it comes down to it being slightly underestimated quite how much Rinny likes the MC? I haven't had the chance to check out the yandere content yet (I'm definitely going to!), and I could be wrong but I personally came to the conclusion that Rinny legitimately loves the MC, and that's why it was also a bit easier for her to come to her decisions. Thus, I was able to forgive her more easily with this in mind, especially with her honestly believing the MC would be happier that way.

That's definitely part of it. I guess one big thing is that Rinny is really humanized, so it's easy to forget that she's a succubus, and succubus values likely aren't the same as human values.
