Itch delisting nsfw games

Hi everyone,

Recently itch.io has been forced to delist all adult games, including Lust Doll+:

https://itch.io/updates/update-on-nsfw-content

Collective Shout (based in Australia) is the organization responsible for this. They're also responsible for the recent Steam purge of adult games:

It's unclear whether my games can continue to exist on Itch, but I'll continue to update here as long as this page is still active. Otherwise, here's other places to find my work:

Here in Britain we have this issue, plkus the issue of the government forcing us to give our ID to companies that aren't the government to access reddit, pornhub, anything considered adult. It's disgusting.

(+1)

Yea, the AIs refuse to verify that I am over 18, and the only other option is to upload a photo of my ID, which I'm obviously not going to do. Apparently it's easy to fool with pictures of random people, but in the meantime I'm just using a VPN

(+3)

That's ridiculous. I'm so sorry for you guys

(+1)

When I was down in Florida back in May, Fansly needed ID just to see profiles that are considered NSFW. (at least, for visitors to Florida) This is stupid that this is happening.

(+10)

It's ridiculous that these "groups" are still a thing.

(+1)

The worst part is how they try to control what everybody else can enjoy

(+8)

Nsfw games can still exist just nobody can find them by searching for them

(+5)

No, unfortunately a lot of NSFW games were removed from Itch, I even heard that people who paid for them got them removed from their accounts, though this last bit should be taken with a grain of salt since I haven't seen any proves of this being the case.

guys... I think we need to destroy australia with a comically large laser

(+2)

I mean, the rest of Australia is fine. It's just groups like this that need to stop trying to force their will on others.

(+1)

yeah i know.

(+33)(-1)

Its always the karens ruining our fun

(+20)

Yea, because they never had any in their lives

(+21)

On Itch it is merely a Shadowban. Meaning you are unable to find it via Itch.io intern search but can find it via a link to the page if you know it exist like for example over Google or Patreon

(+2)

Yeah, but it still sets a bad precedent for potential future censorship/bans

(+1)

I sadly have to agree.

(+16)

Each day that passes by, we're getting closer and closer to shimoneta's world...

(1 edit) (+18)(-6)

Collective Shout is a femist group and funny enough the most hated group in australia, legit most of em have done a crime and has been fined or gone to jail

(+38)(-1)

Calling them simply a “feminist” group is a gross mis-statement of what it actually is, which is an extremist puritanism group masquerading under the guise of being about protecting women

(+20)

They defended cuties so clearly they dont care about women

(1 edit) (+25)(-1)

They're posing as a feminist group, but in reality they're some kind of religious extremists. I don't know why these Australian lunatics got power to influence on a global level, because that's just absurd and something should be done about it.

(+18)

They're not a feminist group, they defended that trash 'CUTIES' on Netflix

(+15)

they shouldn't have international reach

i found a petition

(+1)

Why is a random company responsible for this? I don't know what's behind Itch and Steam, so idk

(+12)

Let me explain it to the best of my ability: You a politican, I a lobbyist, third party's have the politican under chain. If I want you to fuck someone day up, I can tell that third party to blackmail you.

To summarized in one sentence: Itch.io use Visa/Master Card as their method of getting payed, and Collective Shout lobby Visa/Master card to force itch.io to fuck everyone else up.

(+5)

Visa and Mastercard got pressured, they pressured itch. Root cause, bad business practices that give payment processors too much power over consumers, creators, and platf9rms.
